DESCRIPTION: We have been retained by SUNY Downstate Medical Center to locate an individual to assume the newly created role of AVP for Campus Planning, reporting to the Senior Vice President/Chief Administrative Officer of SUNY Downstate Medical Center, as well as a dotted line to Vice President of Facilities Management and Development. In this highly visible role, the AVP Campus Planning will be responsible for the short and long range facilities master planning, construction coordination, major rehabilitation and space utilization program on the campus which includes a 376 bed hospital, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Health Related Professions, School of Public Health and School of Graduate Studies and a major research enterprise.

EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will have strong proven progressive management experience in Hospital and/or University Master Planning with solid capital budget experience. He/she shall be a visionary who has knowledge of best practices of hospital and university planning and Space Inventory Systems and processes. He/she shall have change management experience in team building as well as the ability to establish goals, structures and processes necessary to implement a mission and strategic vision. He/she shall possess strong leadership, coaching and team building, strategic and analytical skills. The successful candidate must have A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Urban Planning or a related field; A Master’s degree in Architecture, Construction/Project Management or Business Administration is desired. Certification as RA or AIA is an added plus.
